Defining CPU General Properties with RTXCgen quadros_logo.gif (4955 bytes) Back to RTXC Quadros >>>

The RTXCgen™ System Generation Utility is a graphical tool for configuring an RTXC Quadros Kernel-based system. Through RTXCgen, you can configure the exact RTOS configuration you want for your application. No need to carry around dead weight in the RTOS anymore. With RTXCgen, you can scale the kernel in both code (ROM) footprint and RAM sizes of objects by just clicking a mouse button. High level dialog boxes and a fill-in-the-blank approach make it easy to use.

Through RTXCgen dialogs, you select and define options related to the desired framework, object classes, services and functionality of the RTXC Quadros kernel itself. Within a selected RTXC Quadros framework, you have a multitude of scalability options open to you. For example, you can select the object classes you want to include with just the click of a mouse button. Those classes you don't select are automatically eliminated from the next compilation of the kernel source code. Further refinements are available to you by eliminating properties from included object classes, giving you precise control over the RAM utilization of the included objects. The effect of eliminating class properties automatically reduces the size of the kernel code by removing the kernel code that supports them during the next compilation of the kernel source code. What could be an easier way of getting the kernel that fits your application needs?

In addition to being able to define just the RTXC Quadros configuration your application needs, you also specify information about statically defined objects used by the application code. When you have the configuration just the way you want it, RTXCgen automatically generates the appropriate files containing the specified configuration information. You then compile the application code including the generated header files. No errors. No lost time.

As easy as it is to make the initial configuration, the graphical presentation makes it just as easy to make kernel configuration changes or to add new objects or change or view data about existing objects. As you work with a project, adding and deleting components, or changing existing components, the RTXCgen displays change to show you the status of those components: With RTXCgen, you have the tool you need to get your application up and running quickly and easily.
