The EtherNet/IP Adapter Developers Kit enables developers of PC based or embedded products to quickly add EtherNet/IP Adapter Class functionality to a product’s feature set. The EtherNet/IP Adapter Developers Kit provides I/O Server, Message Server and Message Client capability. The EADK software provides an Application Programming Interface (API) for using Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) via TCP/IP using standard socket level TCP/IP interface.

The EtherNet/IP Adapter Developers Kit is distributed under a royalty-free site license limited to one location or as enterprise license.

Function Overview

  • Adapter Class Functionality (equivalent to EtherNet/IP Level 2)
    - UCMM (unconnected) Message Server
    - Class 3 (connected) Message Server
    - Class 1 (connected) I/O Server
  • Additional EtherNet/IP Level 3 Feature
    - UCMM (unconnected) Message Client
  • Resource Usage and Management
    - All resources are initialised at startup
    - No dynamic memory or thread allocation
    - Only one thread utsed
     
  • Platform Compatibility and Portability
    - Direct Microsoft Windows XP/2000/NT/CE/WinSock compatibility
    - Direct AIX UNIX, LINUX compatibility
    - Platform dependent utilities isolated in a separate module
       for easier porting to other platforms
    - Source is ANSI C
