As the "little brother" of canAnalyser, canAnalyser-lite provides all required functions for the analysis of CAN systems in a very compact form. It offers an economical entry to professional CAN analysis by providing functions for on-line monitoring of bus traffic, transmission of single or cyclic messages and message sequences as well as recording of CAN messages according to versatile settings of trigger conditions. The canAnalyser-lite package can be upgraded easily to the full canAnalyser version. The configuration files and the project databases of both versions are compatible.

Functionality

Just like its big brother the canAnalyser-lite is based on the proven modularity concept, i.e. it provides its functionality in form of function modules. The "lite" version includes:

• Receive module for receiving and displaying CAN messages
• Transmit module for transmitting messages
• Trace module for recording messages with filters
• Sequencer module for transmitting message sequences
• Statistic module for displaying parameters and message frequencies

These modules are identical to those of the full version. They are managed by the Control Panel, which is also part of the software package. In contrast to canAnalyser, canAnalyser-lite does not allow multiple instances of a module, has no open programming interface and can only be operated with one CAN bus.

canAnalyser-lite does support the analysis of CANopen or DeviceNet systems through the same add-on modules as are available for canAnalyser.
