uCDrive is designed to allow Micros to appear as Pen Drives on a PC through a simple serial port connection. Used with our file systems (EFFS-TINY and EFFS-THIN) it gives a new dimension to product development and management with microcontrollers. Accessing a Micro through the serial port is generally the most cost and resuorce efficient access method. A simple 3-wire connection can be used to enable a PC manage configuration, diagnostic, datalogging and field uprgade functions in a safe and reliable way. An application (uCSynch) runs on the PC. When it detects a uCDrive enabled microcontroller on a serial port it automatically creates a drive under explorer (by default U:) and synchronizes the files on the microcontroller with those in its last record for that serial number. The drive can then be used as any other drive. You can record a wav file on the microcontroller and simply double click on it for it to play on the PC. Alternatively you can drop a wav file to the U drive (or whatever is configured) and get the microcontroller application to play.

MSP430 Atmel Dataflash File System Demonstration
FeaturesA 2MByte file system is created in the Atmel Dataflash attached to the MSP430. 25K of MSP430 internal flash is also reserved for code storage. The file system is completely failsafe. A full file API is provided - this is documented in the EFFS-TINY user guide. Files are automatically synchronized between the PC and target based on having a matching serial number and the options set in uCSynch. Also included is a terminal program which allows access to the target through a standard terminal device (perhaps Hyperterm on a PC). MSP430 MMC/SD card DemonstrationFeaturesContains EFFS-THIN PC compatible FAT12/16 file system for Micros with limited resources. See EFFS-THIN directory for product manual and product brief. Also included is a terminal program which allows access to the target through a standard terminal device (perhaps Hyperterm on a PC). MSP430 Internal Flash File System DemonstrationFeaturesA 45KByte file sytem is created on the target in the internal flash of the MSP430. 25K of this is reserved for code storage.
