z2rlab - Zee2 Remote Lab
z2rlab is a system for accessing remote equipment (i.e. computers, boards etc)
from anywhere using only web-browser. It comprises a server, A/C power
control unit, serial interfaces and discrete digital I/O. This comes
packaged as a system houses in a standard 19-inch racking system (see picture
on the left)
The system allows deployment of locally developed software images, or images
developed using the integrated build environment on the server.

Use cases
- A team need access to a limited resource (i.e. a new prototype board)
- Geographically dispersed teams need to maximising utilisation across time zones
- Target systems are not easily accessible (noise, cold, secure, ..) but you need to allow controlled access
- You cannot visit all your customers, but want to allow them to try out your product
- You need a way of simply, reliably and repeatably booting complex systems without having to be a bootloader or operating system expert (e.g. application developers)
- You need a defined environment to do regression tests (elimiating the developers local customisation uncertainties)
- You need non-destructive way of testing bootloaders without JTAG or re-Flashing your boards. Using z2rlab and remote virtual boards makes this task simple and effective

- By using commercial off the shelf hardware and a number of open-source software components, we have been able to minimise system cost. This benefit is directly passed on to you.

- One of the overriding design goals was to make the system simple to use. By clear layout and automation of complex steps, we have striven to make using the system a breeze.

- Client access via a web-browser (IE or Firefox)
- All data securely tunnelled over https
- Access to real or simulated remote targets
- Connect only mode, or fully automated Operating System boot
- Develop images locally and upload, or build remotely using LTIB
- Coordinated access using a booking system and channel locking
- Extensible architecture (for future products: i.e. automated testing)
Availability
Z2rlab systems are built to order. Typically the lead time is less than 6 weeks from order.
Options and Pricing
The system may be bought as either a 4 or 8 channel capable system. Each system may be ordered with one or more channels. Further channels may be bought later if you need to upgrade (up to the system capability limit).
