RoHS and WEEE Compliance

RoHS

Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) came into force throughout the European Community on 1st July 2006. The purpose of this directive is to restrict the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) within electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), thereby contributing to the protection of human health and the environment.  RoHS is a European Union (EU) Directive, however, manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment outside Europe must also abide by this legislation if the equipment they produce is ultimately imported into an EU member state.

Details of the full directive (along with other associated RoHS and WEEE directives) can be obtained here http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/weee/legis_en.htm

Nohau UK Ltd is fully compliant with this directive.  Unless otherwise stated, all products that we supply are either RoHS Compliant, RoHS Exempt or were imported into the EU before 1st July 2006.  If you require products purchased to be fully compliant with the directive please let us know when placing your order.  For more detailed information on individual products please contact us with details of your enquiry by clicking here >>>

WEEE - Consumer Information

Wheely BinThe products we sell may contain substances that can be hazardous to the environment if not disposed of properly. We use B2B Compliance for our WEEE Compliance Scheme.

Electrical and electronic equipment should never be disposed of with general waste collections but must be separately collected for their proper treatment and recovery. The bin symbol (to the right) is applied to any product that requires WEEE compliant disposal.

The crossed-out bin symbol, placed on our products, reminds you of the need to dispose of the product correctly at the end of its life.  In this way you will assist in the recovery, recycling and reuse of many of the materials used in this product.  At the end of the life of your product please contact us for information on collection arrangements.

When buying a new product from us you may be entitled to return, free of charge, an end of life product of equivalent type that has fulfilled the same functions as the new equipment to be supplied.

Where possible, also recycle your packaging.  With your help it is possible to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic waste ending up in landfill and to improve quality of life by preventing the release of potentially hazardous substances into the environment.
